Digital agency for aftermarket parts manufacturers

Aftermarket parts manufacturer marketing starts with data, not adverts. If your article numbers, OE cross-references, GTINs and vehicle linkages are not clean in TecDoc, MAM Autocat and PIES, factors cannot stock you and marketplaces cannot show you. We fix the data, then build the where-to-buy locators, D2C stores and brand content that turn it into demand.

Aftermarket manufacturers make or re-brand replacement and performance parts (filters, brakes, exhausts, lighting, suspension, accessories) and sell through distributors, motor factors, retailers and marketplaces, and increasingly direct. The UK has more than 2,500 component providers and an aftermarket worth around £17 billion in GVA, fed by a parc where 45.7% of cars are over ten years old. Scorpion Exhausts, a UK performance exhaust manufacturer, is a dijitul client and a good example of the pattern: a brand with engineering credibility, a distributor network, a D2C audience and a fitment catalogue that has to be right in every channel at once.

A manufacturer's commercial reach is set by its data. TecDoc is the European standard: article and reference numbers, OE and trade numbers, GTINs, criteria, parts lists, images and vehicle linkages to K-Types, published through TecAlliance's supplier tools. MAM converts TecDoc to Autocat and back so the UK counter catalogue matches. ACES and PIES are the North American equivalents (fitment and product content respectively, on the VCdb, PCdb, PAdb and Qdb databases, version 2.0 released 26 March 2026) and are what Amazon's Part Finder and US distributors expect. Most manufacturers maintain all of this in spreadsheets without a PIM, so supersession chains break, OE cross-references drift, images are below marketplace standard and every channel has a slightly different version of the truth.

We treat the catalogue as the product. We build or configure a PIM (Akeneo, Pimcore) as the single source, cleanse and enrich the article data, map OE cross-references and supersessions, attach K-Types and ACES vehicle IDs, secure GS1 GTINs, and export TecDoc, Autocat, PIES and marketplace feeds from one place. On top of that we build the brand site with a where-to-buy locator that sends a consumer to the nearest stockist or your own D2C store without upsetting the distributor, technical content and fitting guides that rank, and marketplace programmes on eBay and Amazon that keep brand-owner control over listings and fitment. Channel conflict, counterfeits and export documentation are handled as part of the design, not discovered afterwards.

The usual problems

  • TecDoc and ACES data maintained by hand

Article data, linkages and criteria live in spreadsheets, so every TecDoc release and every Amazon upload is a manual, error-prone job.

  • OE cross-references and supersessions drift

A superseded OE number, a formatting variant or a missing cross-reference means the factor cannot find your part and stocks someone else's.

  • Images and drawings below marketplace standard

Marketplaces and distributors want multiple angles, clean backgrounds and correct sizes; a single supplier photo per line no longer passes.

  • Channel conflict when going D2C

Distributors see a brand store as competition unless pricing, locators and launch timing are designed to protect them.

  • Counterfeits and grey imports on marketplaces

Copies with your brand name and your fitment data undercut you on eBay and Amazon while you lose brand-owner control of the listing.

  • Export and multilingual content

Distributors in other markets need translated product data and compliant documentation, and producing it per request does not scale.

Aftermarket Manufacturers: common questions

What is the difference between TecDoc and ACES/PIES?

TecDoc is the European catalogue standard, linking articles to vehicle K-Types with criteria and OE numbers. ACES is the North American fitment standard and PIES its product-content standard. UK brands need TecDoc for factors and Europe, and ACES/PIES for Amazon and North America.

Do we need a PIM to manage aftermarket parts data?

Once you have more than a few hundred articles with vehicle linkages, yes. A PIM such as Akeneo or Pimcore holds one clean record per article and exports TecDoc, Autocat, PIES, marketplace and website feeds from it, so a change is made once and reaches every channel.

How does a where-to-buy locator work without upsetting distributors?

The locator shows stockists by postcode with a link to buy from them, and offers your own store as one option at the same recommended price. Distributors keep the local sale; you keep the customer data and the sale where no stockist is nearby.

Can you get our fitment data onto Amazon and eBay?

Yes. We generate ACES fitment files for Amazon from your linkages and submit them as the brand owner, and produce K-Type compatibility for eBay UK from the same data, so both marketplaces show Confirmed Fit or Fits Your Vehicle for your parts.

Have you worked with a parts manufacturer before?

Yes. Scorpion Exhausts, a UK performance exhaust manufacturer selling through distributors and direct, is a dijitul client. The case study on this site covers the work.
