Build
Automotive web design for every part of the motor trade
Automotive web design is what we have done since 2006: websites for garages, bodyshops, tuners, race teams, clubs and dealers, built by people who know what a K-Type is and why your MOT booking form needs a reg field. Fast, mobile-first builds on WordPress, Astro or a bespoke stack, with the vehicle data wired in from day one.
Who we do this for
- Garages & MOT Centres
- Bodyshops & Accident Repair
- Tuning & Performance
- Race Teams & Motorsport
- Clubs, Media & Enthusiasts

Native data integrations
Most automotive websites are a generic agency template with a car photo dropped in. They look fine and do nothing: no reg lookup, no booking, no stock, no way for a customer to tell you what they drive. We start from the job the site has to do (take an MOT booking, sell a remap, show a race calendar, list stock) and design backwards from that.
We build on the platform that fits the job. WordPress for garages, bodyshops, detailers and clubs that need to edit their own pages. Astro for content-heavy sites where speed matters. Shopify, WooCommerce or Magento where there is a catalogue to sell. Bespoke where a booking engine, member portal or dealer stock system needs to sit behind it. Every build ships with schema markup, Core Web Vitals passing on mobile, and analytics that track enquiries rather than visits.
Vehicle data is native, not bolted on. DVLA VES reg lookup on your booking or quote form, DVSA MOT history for reminder capture, CAP HPI or Auto Trader valuations for part-ex, TecDoc or K-Type fitment for parts. If your site needs to know what car the customer drives, it will, and it will get that from the number plate rather than a twelve-field form.
Sound familiar?
You probably need this if
- Your site was built by a general agency and the contact form still asks for make, model, engine and year instead of a reg.
- It scores red on mobile PageSpeed and Google Business Profile sends more enquiries than the site does.
- Stock, prices or the race calendar get updated by emailing a developer.
- You pay a platform provider monthly for a template that looks like every other garage in the county.
- You have an old site with rankings you cannot afford to lose in a rebuild.
Deliverables
What you get
- Discovery workshop and sitemap based on the jobs the site must do, with keyword ownership mapped per page.
- Custom mobile-first design (not a theme), with real content from your trade rather than placeholder text.
- WordPress, Astro, Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento or bespoke build, depending on the job.
- Reg lookup, booking, quote, stock or member features integrated from launch.
- Technical SEO baseline: schema, redirects from the old site, sitemaps, Core Web Vitals sign-off.
- Training, documentation and a support plan so your team can edit pages without us.
Web design for garages, bodyshops and workshops
A workshop website has one job: turn a search into a booking. So the MOT page has a booking form with a reg field, the servicing page shows what a service includes, and every page carries the phone number, opening hours and a map that matches your Google Business Profile. We add DVSA MOT history so the site can capture the due date and feed your reminder list.
Web design for motorsport, tuning and clubs
Race team sites need a calendar, results, driver and car pages, and a sponsor section that a marketing manager can evaluate in two minutes. Tuning companies need remap and product pages that ask for the reg and return the right stage and price. Clubs need membership, events, a forum or gallery, and a way to sell merchandise. We have built all three, starting with our own.
Process
How we approach it
-
Discovery
Half a day with you, on site where possible. What sells, what the phone rings about, what the current site does badly, and which systems (DMS, garage management, booking, marketplaces) it has to talk to.
-
Architecture and content
Sitemap, page briefs and keyword ownership agreed before design starts. We write or edit copy with you so pages answer the questions your customers actually ask.
-
Design
Mobile-first designs for the key templates. Real photos of your workshop, forecourt or cars wherever you can supply them, not stock imagery.
-
Build and integrate
Development on the chosen platform with vehicle data, booking or stock integrations wired and tested against live data.
-
Launch and handover
Redirect map from the old URLs, Search Console and analytics set up, performance checked, team trained. Then a support plan or a clean handover, your call.
Web Design: common questions
How much does an automotive website cost?
It depends on the job. A garage or bodyshop site on WordPress with booking and reg lookup is at the lower end; a dealer site with stock feeds or a parts store with fitment is a bigger build. We scope first and quote a fixed price, so you know before you commit.
Do you build on WordPress?
Yes, and on Astro, Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and bespoke stacks. We pick the platform for the job: WordPress where your team needs to edit pages, Shopify or Magento where there is a catalogue, bespoke where a booking engine or portal sits behind it.
Will we lose our Google rankings if we rebuild?
Not if the rebuild is done properly. We crawl the old site, map every URL to its new home with 301 redirects, keep the content that ranks, and watch Search Console after launch. GD Cars was a WordPress rebuild handled exactly this way.
Can the site look up a customer's car from the reg?
Yes. We integrate DVLA VES, UKVD or similar lookups so a booking, quote or part-ex form fills make, model, engine and MOT due date from the number plate. It is standard on our garage, tyre and parts builds.
How long does a build take?
A garage, club or bodyshop site is typically six to ten weeks from discovery to launch. Dealer sites with stock feeds and parts stores with fitment take longer because of the integration and data work. You get a dated plan at scoping.
Do you do motorsport and club websites?
Yes. dijitul grew out of the Maxxd car club and has sponsored Time Attack and BTCC teams. We build race team sites with calendars, results and sponsor pages, and club sites with membership, events and forums.

Automotive website hosting is different from brochure-site hosting because the site is doing work: stock syncs at 2am, reg lookups hit a paid API, the Shopping feed rebuilds hourly, and a Saturday outage costs a weekend's leads.
