eBay Motors integration for car parts, breakers and motor factors

eBay Motors integration connects your parts store, yard management system or catalogue to eBay UK so listings, K-Type compatibility, stock and orders stay in sync. We build it for parts retailers, breakers and motor factors who have outgrown copy-and-paste listing and want eBay to run from the same data as their own website.

eBay UK is still the biggest single channel for used and aftermarket car parts, and the thing that decides whether a listing sells is compatibility. On eBay UK, car and van parts carry compatibility as TecDoc K-Type numbers; motorcycle and scooter parts use eBay's own ePID vehicle identifiers. A listing with correct compatibility appears when a buyer filters by their vehicle in My Garage and shows the fits-your-vehicle confirmation; a listing without it relies on the buyer reading the title.

We build against eBay's Sell APIs (Inventory, Fulfillment and Marketing) and, where a client already has a Trading API workflow, against that. Listings are created from your product data with brand, manufacturer part number, item specifics and the K-Type list attached; stock levels are decremented across eBay and your store when an order lands on either; orders flow into your store or accounts package with the eBay fees recorded. Business policies, postage tables and returns are set once in eBay and referenced by every listing.

For breakers and dismantlers the source is usually the yard management system: Eladene (acquired by eBay in 2026), YardPro, PartsCloud, Pinnacle or a similar package. We take the stock feed from it, enrich part records with fitment from the donor vehicle's K-Type and list to eBay and to your own website in parallel, so a used alternator is for sale in two places from one record and removed from both when it sells.

Sound familiar?

You probably need this if

  • You list on eBay by hand and your website by hand, and the two are never quite the same.
  • Half your listings have no compatibility and buyers keep messaging to ask if it fits.
  • Something sells on eBay and again on your website before anyone updates stock.
  • eBay orders are typed into your accounts package on a Friday afternoon.
  • Your yard system lists to eBay but your own website is an afterthought.
  • You sell motorcycle parts and K-Type does not cover them.

Deliverables

What you get

  • eBay developer account, app keys and Sell API authorisation set up in your name
  • Listing engine that creates and updates eBay listings from your store or yard system
  • K-Type compatibility lists generated from TecDoc or your own fitment data, ePID for motorcycles
  • Item specifics mapping (brand, MPN, OE number, condition, placement) per category
  • Two-way stock sync between eBay, your website and any other marketplace
  • Order import into your store, warehouse or accounts package with eBay fees recorded
  • Business policy, postage and returns configuration per listing group
  • Monitoring for listing errors, policy violations and compatibility rejections

Process

How we approach it

  1. Audit your eBay account and data

We review existing listings, categories, item specifics and compatibility coverage, and look at the data you hold in your store, catalogue or yard system.

  2. Fitment source

We decide where K-Types come from: a TecDoc licence, your supplier's data, or the donor vehicle's registration for used parts. Motorcycle lines are mapped to ePIDs.

  3. Build the listing engine

Product data is transformed into eBay listings against the Sell APIs in sandbox, with category and item specific rules per product group.

  4. Stock and orders

Stock sync and order import are built and tested with a small live batch before the full catalogue goes across.

  5. Roll out and monitor

Listings migrate in batches so search history and sales rank are preserved. Errors and rejections alert your team with the fix spelled out.

eBay Motors Integration: common questions

What is K-Type on eBay?

A K-Type is a TecDoc vehicle identifier covering make, model, engine and production period. eBay UK, along with DE, FR, IT, ES and AU, uses K-Types to record which vehicles a car or van part fits, so buyers can filter by their vehicle and see the fits-your-vehicle confirmation.

Where do we get K-Type data for our parts?

From a TecDoc licence via TecAlliance, from your supplier or manufacturer's fitment data, or for used parts from the donor vehicle's registration, which we resolve to a K-Type. We can also help clean an existing spreadsheet.

Can you integrate our breakers yard system with eBay and our website?

Yes. We take the stock feed from Eladene, YardPro, PartsCloud, Pinnacle or similar, add fitment from the donor vehicle and list to eBay and your own site from one record, removing both when the part sells.

Does it handle motorcycle parts?

Yes. Motorcycle and scooter compatibility on eBay uses ePIDs from eBay's vehicle catalogue rather than K-Types. We map your motorcycle lines to ePIDs and car lines to K-Types in the same listing engine.

Will our existing listings and sales history be lost?

No. We match existing listings to your product records by SKU or MPN and update them in place rather than ending and relisting, so search history and sales rank are preserved.

Is there a limit to how many vehicles a listing can fit?

Yes, eBay caps the number of compatibilities per listing. For universal or very wide-fitment parts we prioritise the most common vehicles and, where it makes sense, split listings by vehicle group.
