Digital agency for motorcycle dealers and bike parts retailers

A motorcycle dealer website earns its keep in the spring peak, when the trade sells hardest and cash flow for the year is decided. It needs live stock from your DMS, feeds to Auto Trader Bikes and eBay, FCA-compliant finance figures and a parts and clothing store with fitment and sizing that cuts returns. We build all of it for franchised and independent bike dealers.

The motorcycle trade is franchised and independent dealers, parts and clothing retailers, custom builders, training schools and touring firms, and it had a hard 2025. New registrations fell 19.3% to 93,922 after Euro 5+ pre-registration distorted 2024, with motorcycles alone at 89,160. Adventure bikes were the most popular style at 20,032 registrations and scooters took 22,248. The business is brutally seasonal: the spring peak carries the year, and a dealer whose website and marketing are not ready by March has missed it. Dealers run Dragon2000, Catalyst or a bike-specific DMS, advertise on Auto Trader Bikes, MCN Bikes for Sale and eBay, and sell finance under the same FCA CONC representative-APR and Consumer Duty rules as the car trade.

Parts and accessories are where the data gets hard. TecDoc motorcycle coverage exists but is thinner than for cars, so retailers keep their own fitment tables by make, model, year and variant, and the eBay compatibility list is often the best catalogue they have. Clothing and helmets add a second problem: sizes, fit notes and a returns rate that eats margin unless the product data is right. The DVSA MOT History API covers motorcycles since 2005, which gives dealers and workshops free mileage and MOT-due data for part-exchange valuation and reminders that most bike sites never use.

We build the dealer site on live DMS stock with feeds out to Auto Trader Bikes, MCN and eBay from one record, walkaround video on every bike, finance figures that carry the representative example, and part-exchange with VRM lookup and MOT history. The parts and clothing store gets a bike selector driven by your own fitment table, size guides and returns rules that cut the wrong-size cycle, and Shopify or Magento depending on catalogue scale. Marketing is timed to the season: paid social and email built up from January, PPC weighted to the spring, and a workshop and MOT-reminder programme that keeps the customer through the winter.

The usual problems

  • The whole year rides on spring

If the site, the stock feeds and the campaigns are not ready by March, the season is missed and cash flow suffers until next year.

  • Fitment data you have to build yourself

TecDoc motorcycle coverage is thin, so parts and accessory fitment lives in spreadsheets and the eBay compatibility list, and the website does not use either.

  • Clothing and helmet returns

Sizing across brands is inconsistent, fit notes are missing, and every wrong-size return costs postage twice and a restock.

  • Finance figures that need a representative example

A monthly price on a bike listing or a social post is a financial promotion under FCA rules, and most bike dealers have no compliance process for it.

  • Feeds to Auto Trader Bikes, MCN and eBay by hand

Re-keying stock into three marketplaces means stale prices, missing bikes and the same bike sold twice.

  • Training-school bookings on the phone

CBT and DAS courses fill on evenings and weekends when nobody is there to answer, and the booking calendar is a whiteboard.

Motorcycles: common questions

Can a motorcycle dealer website show live stock from our DMS?

Yes. We integrate with Dragon2000, Catalyst and other bike-dealer systems so bikes, prices, images and status appear on the site as they change, and the same record feeds Auto Trader Bikes, MCN and eBay so nothing is re-keyed or sold twice.

How do you handle parts fitment when TecDoc motorcycle data is thin?

We build a fitment table from your own records, supplier data and eBay compatibility lists, keyed by make, model, year and variant, and use it to drive the bike selector on the store and the compatibility on eBay. Where TecDoc has coverage we layer it on top.

Do finance figures on bike listings need a representative example?

Yes. A monthly figure or an APR on a listing, ad or social post is a financial promotion under FCA CONC 3 and needs a representative example with an APR at least 51% of respondents could get. We build it into the listing template so it cannot be dropped.

How do we reduce clothing and helmet returns online?

Brand-specific size guides, fit notes on each product, clear photography of fit and closure types, and a returns policy shown before checkout. Good product data cuts the wrong-size cycle more than any other change.

Can you build online booking for a motorcycle training school?

Yes. We build course calendars for CBT, DAS and advanced training with instructor and bike availability, deposits, licence-stage questions and automatic reminders, so evening and weekend enquiries book themselves.
