Digital agency for bodyshops and accident repair centres

Bodyshop marketing is about earning work that does not arrive through an insurer portal at a set labour rate. Retail customers with a private repair, a SMART job, a wrap or PPF are searching Google and Instagram. We build bodyshop websites that capture them, with photo estimate forms, status updates and pages that prove your ADAS and EV capability.

fall in UK bodyshop numbers, from 3,950 in 2008 to 3,162 in 2018

The UK body repair market was predicted to be worth over £9bn in 2024, and it is served by far fewer businesses than it used to be: bodyshop numbers fell 20% from 3,950 in 2008 to 3,162 in 2018 and consolidation has continued since. Volumes are volatile, with 44% of bodyshops reporting lower repair volumes in September 2025 than a year earlier. ADAS calibration, EV structural repair and parts inflation have made every job more complex and more expensive to get wrong.

Insurer-approved work fills the shop and squeezes it. Rates are set by the work provider, the customer belongs to the insurer and the shop's own name never reaches them. Retail work is the other half of the business: private repairs for people who would rather not claim, SMART repairs, alloy refurbishment, wraps, PPF, classic and prestige paint. Those customers search Google, look at Instagram and want a price from a photo without driving in. Most bodyshop websites give them a phone number and a stock image.

We build sites around the retail journey. A photo estimate form that takes the reg, three images and a description and lands in the estimator's inbox or your BMS. Service pages for each retail line that rank locally. A capability section that explains ADAS recalibration and EV repair in plain terms, because customers and fleet managers are now asking. Reviews from Google pulled onto the page. A status update tool so the customer is not ringing the front desk every day for a job that is waiting on paint.

We know the back office you run on: Audatex and Glass's for estimating, a bodyshop management system, CAPS, insurer portals. We connect the customer-facing side to those where the systems allow it, rather than adding another inbox. Recruitment matters here too; panel and paint technicians are scarce, and a careers page that shows the shop and the kit is the cheapest hire you will make.

The usual problems

  • Most of our work comes through one work provider

Their rate, their customer, their volume. When it drops, the shop is empty and nobody knows the retail phone number.

  • Retail customers cannot find us or price a job

They search for 'scratch repair' or 'bumper repair' and find a mobile SMART franchise with a form and a price. We have a phone number.

  • Nobody knows we do ADAS and EV

The calibration rig and the training are paid for and the website still says accident repair.

  • Estimating and the customer never meet

Audatex produces the estimate, the customer gets a phone call, and nothing about it is on the site or in an email they can refer to.

  • Customers ring every day for an update

Lead times are long, parts are late and the front desk spends the morning saying 'still waiting on the door'.

  • We cannot hire a painter

No careers page, no photos of the booth and no way to apply.

Bodyshops & Accident Repair: common questions

How can a bodyshop get more retail work?

Be findable for the retail searches (scratch, bumper, alloy, wrap, PPF, private repair) in your area, make it easy to get a price from photos, show finished work and reviews, and follow up estimates. That is a website, local SEO and a little paid media.

Can customers get an estimate from photos?

Yes. A form captures the reg, photos and a description, looks up the vehicle and sends a structured enquiry to your estimator or BMS. You reply with a price or a booking for inspection.

Can the website send customers repair status updates?

Yes. Either a simple status tool your front desk updates, which sends an SMS or email, or an integration with your bodyshop management system where it supports one.

Should we advertise ADAS calibration and EV repair?

If you are equipped and trained, yes. Retail customers, fleets and other garages search for it and few bodyshop sites mention it. We write pages that explain what it is and why it matters in plain English.

Do you work with insurer-approved repairers?

Yes. Insurer work is usually the base load; our job is to grow the retail and fleet work around it so the shop is less exposed when a work provider's volume drops.
