Digital agency for EV specialists and charging installers
EV charging installer marketing is a local-search fight against national brands with bigger budgets. You win it with a site that explains grants and tariffs plainly, a Google Business Profile that earns reviews, and a survey-to-quote journey that answers in minutes. We do the same for independent EV workshops and used-EV dealers who need battery-health data in every listing.
The EV trade is several businesses at once. OZEV-authorised installers fit home, workplace and commercial charge points and live on local search, grant knowledge (the chargepoint grants for renters and flat owners, the workplace scheme) and reviews. Charge-point operators run networks on OCPP back-office platforms such as Monta and Fuuse and need live availability, apps and OCPI roaming. Independent EV workshops and used-EV dealers service and sell a parc that reached 1.8 million battery-electric cars in 2025, up 34.7%, with used BEV sales up 45.7% to 274,815 in the same year. Public charging has scaled to 121,171 charge points by June 2026, and pricing is a consumer flashpoint at 54p per kWh for slow and fast and 77p for rapid.
The marketing problem is confusion. Customers do not know whether they qualify for a grant, what a tethered versus untethered unit means, why a home tariff is cheaper than a rapid charger, or whether a used EV's battery is healthy. Installers compete with Pod Point and Octopus on PPC where the national brand outbids them on every term. Used-EV dealers list cars without a battery-health figure and lose the buyer to one who shows an Aviloo or ClearWatt report. Workshops with IMI TechSafe-qualified technicians rarely say so on their site, even though the qualification is the reason to choose them. The ASA's rules on EV and environmental claims mean range and zero-emission wording has to be accurate and qualified.
We build the answers into the site. Installers get grant-eligibility checkers, tariff explainers, a survey-booking and photo-upload flow and branch-level local SEO that wins near-me searches against national brands. Used-EV dealers get stock pages with battery-health data from providers such as UKVD BatteryData or an uploaded certificate, plus charging-cost calculators built into the listing. Workshops get booking with VRM lookup, technician certification front and centre and MOT-reminder automation. Operators get apps, live-status integrations and the software to run tariffs and roaming. All of it written to pass an ASA check on the first read.
The usual problems
- Customers do not understand grants or tariffs
Every enquiry starts with the same questions about eligibility, tethered versus untethered and home versus public cost, and the website answers none of them.
- Outbid by Pod Point and Octopus on PPC
National brands take the head terms. Winning means local search, reviews and content on the questions they do not bother answering.
- Used-EV listings with no battery-health figure
Buyers want state of health, charging speed and real-world range on the listing; without it they assume the worst and move on.
- Qualified technicians nobody knows about
IMI TechSafe and manufacturer EV qualifications are the reason to choose an independent, but they are buried in a footer or not mentioned at all.
- Survey and quote handling by phone
An installer's day is on site. Quotes that need a callback, a site visit and a photo by email lose to a competitor with an online survey form.
- Operators need live data and apps
Charge-point networks need availability, tariffs, payment and OCPI roaming exposed to drivers, and a brochure site cannot do it.

MOT History APIEV Specialists & Charging: common questions
How can a small EV charger installer compete with Pod Point or Octopus online?
Not on head-term PPC. Win local search with a complete Google Business Profile, steady reviews, service-area pages and content answering grant, tariff and installation questions the national brands skip. Then run PPC on those long-tail terms where the click is cheaper.
Should a used-EV dealer show battery health on listings?
Yes. Buyers ask about state of health first. Show a battery-health figure from a provider such as UKVD BatteryData or an Aviloo or ClearWatt certificate, plus charging speeds and a WLTP range with the correct qualification, and the enquiry rate improves.
Can you build a grant-eligibility checker into an installer website?
Yes. A short form covering tenure, property type, parking and use case tells the customer which OZEV chargepoint grant they may qualify for, captures the lead and books the survey. Scheme rules change, so the logic is kept in an admin you can update.
What ASA rules apply to EV marketing?
Range, efficiency and CO2 figures must be WLTP and representative or clearly qualified; zero-emission and environmental claims must be accurate and not misleading; and performance must not condone irresponsible driving. We check copy against the CAP Code motoring guidance.
Do you build apps and integrations for charge-point operators?
Yes. We build driver and fleet apps, integrate with OCPP back-office platforms such as Monta and Fuuse, expose live status and tariffs, and handle OCPI roaming connections and payment flows for networks and workplace schemes.
