Custom Creations Detailing case study: a WordPress site built around the work
Custom Creations Detailing, established in 2014 and based at Bilsthorpe in Nottinghamshire, details and protects prestige and performance cars: paint correction, Titan Coatings ceramics as an approved partner, and Profilm paint protection film as one of a handful of approved centres. They were running a service business on a Shopify store. We moved them to a WordPress site built around what actually sells detailing work: the projects.
The challenge
Shopify is a superb platform for selling products, but Custom Creations sells assessments, bookings and multi-day protection packages on cars like a 2026 Range Rover Vogue SV. Product templates, cart logic and app subscriptions were in the way of the two things the business needed: to show the work and to be found locally.
Detailing customers choose on evidence. Before-and-after photography, the specific coating or film used and the car it went on do more than any amount of copy, and the old site had no natural home for that content.
Searches for ceramic coating, PPF and detailing are intensely local. Being the obvious choice across Newark, Mansfield, Nottingham and the wider East Midlands mattered more than ranking nationally.
What we did
We built a new WordPress site with a lean theme and no page-builder bloat, with a clear service architecture: valeting and detailing, ceramic coatings, Profilm PPF, dent removal and wheel refurbishment, each with its own page, assessment-first calls to action and enquiry routing.
Projects sit at the centre. A dedicated case study post type turns every notable car into a page with the vehicle, the package and the products used, feeding the home page, the service pages and the blog, so the site keeps getting stronger every time the team finishes a car.
Local SEO was built in rather than bolted on: location-aware service content, consistent NAP, opening hours, LocalBusiness structured data, a Google Business Profile that matches the site, and a Trustpilot and review strategy tied to each completed project. The migration from Shopify mapped every old URL to its new home so nothing already ranking was lost.

Web Design
Automotive web design is what we have done since 2006: websites for garages, bodyshops, tuners, race teams, clubs and dealers, built by people who know what a K-Type is and why your MOT booking form needs a reg field.

Local SEO
Local SEO for garages is mostly about the map pack: when someone types 'MOT near me' at 8am, Google shows three businesses, and the phone rings for those three.

Content & Video
Automotive content marketing only works when the content is right about the car.
